Moms should dress in florals
But my Mama likes to wear black
Kind-of-like Johnny Cash except
Without the guitar and hat

When pastel colors are in season
Mama flies-in like a red flash
She jokes when she should be serious and
Cries when others laugh

She likes stripes instead of paisley and
Skirts instead of slacks
She’ll wear long scarves all through the winter but
In summer she insists on hats

Mama says each mother is like a flower
The kind only her child can see
Moms can be simple like a daisy, or fussy like a rose
And her fragrance can be sweet or lovely
But this is something only her child knows

I know that my Mama is my flower
The kind only I can see
She has a special fragrance
That smells so good to me
Yes, Mama is my flower and
And no matter what the season
She always here and beautiful to me
