My children off to bed, I’m here, like so many of you, able to enter the (world of the) Internet and do some “research.” Follow my journey.

We will soon welcome, Dear Reader, the work of Karen Hug-Nagy, whose posts will appear shortly on our site. While researching her work, I stumbled on Jen Singer’s http://www.Mommasaid.net. She welcomes her viewers by saying, “Welcome to Mommablog, my blog about a mom’s life, just like yours.” A click on her Guest Post link immediately led me to Meagan Francis, author of the new book “The Happiest Mom” and the blog site of the same name: http://thehappiestmom.com – a site I visited for quite a while, trying to see if the moniker fit (me).

Meagan’s blog post on “Happy Mom Secret #6,” one of many posts dedicated to being both happy and a mom (“You really can use both words in a sentence”) referenced the best selling book, Mommy Guilt, and corresponding website “Parentopia,”written by Devra Renner and Aviva Pflock. Their link to the thumbnail “No Princess Fights Alone” sent me to “Toddler Planet,”the website by Susan Niebur, four-time cancer survivor and mother to a four and six year old. I traversed a maze of her linked websites/blog sites written by 20 (mother/women) cancer survivors before I needed to come up for some air…

Starting again, I linked through http://MomItForward.com (“Changing the world, one mom at a time”) before my computer froze. This was a fitting analogy – a Louise Hay moment of sorts – where my technological marvel actually reflected and mirrored…me!

I turned it off and quickly…
turned it back on, to

A pursuit of more mommy blog lists produced (among several hundred): Top50MommyBlogs, 10Best CouponMommyBlogs, GatheringoftheBestMomBlogs, BestMomBlogs, 10BestMommyBloggers and the NYT’sBestMommyBlogs. Or,the “40 Awesome Midlife Moms Blogs,” of which Mothering and NURTURE – my websites – have been chosen.

At this point, which was around 11 p.m., I was reminded of the classic television cartoon where the character’s real voice slowly changes into a helium-balloon sound – whirring faster and faster…until the character explodes! That was me! Poof!

As a mother, I’m happy to be in such good company with so many other mothers – a fact which is sometimes diluted in real world experiences (the playground, nursery school, public school, etc.), especially as a (new) Midlife Mother.

Now, after all of this online stimulus, I’m tired. I’m going to bed.
